WIENER 1979
Gert Winkler and Günter Lebisch had the idea and the will to put out the monthly magazine WIENER. They wanted a new illustrated magazine for Vienna, modeled on Andy Warhol’s “Interview.” It was to be non-partisan but not apolitical, committed but not uptight, open but not directionless. And it was my good fortune to be asked to join them. Of course, I said. It was to be the most thrilling, exciting, wild, wonderful, and chaotic project. Actually, it deserves to be covered in a whole separate story.
THANKS to the two of you.
10 YEARS ROTER ENGEL 1991
BOOK MYTHOS BAR 1992
When the REISS Bar celebrated its 15th anniversary, I thought it was high time that a book be written in German about the history of the bar. Anyone who has read this book is a bar y with a solid theoretical Background; one who loves the hands-on experience of bars, or he or she is a seasoned bar y with a lot of new insights and stories to tell in his or her regular bar.
These are the knowledgeable, experienced, eloquent and above all poetic bar ies who wrote the history of the bar and its stories in this book:
Christoph Wagner, Angelo Peer, Helmut A. Gansterer, Andrea Schurian, Peter Orthofer, Eva Deissen, Herbert Giese, Brigitta Satke-Butka, Christoph Braendle, Nicole Schmidt, Florian Holzer, Erika Moore, Michael Bull, Manfred Wagner, Philipp Waldeck, Je rey Rian, William Rice, Brigitte Hosse, Wolf D. Prix, Andy Gaiser, Robert Löffer, and Antonia Wemer.
With more than 7,000 copies sold, this book was a success worth toasting.

Elisabeth von Samsonow. An Excerpt.
The images making up the prehistory of that style of painting, which draws realism out of photos - where it has realistic elements - tended to be Pop Art in the 1970s. The strong colors, the attitudes, the oscillation between the big, very sexy pose and the graphism of color blocks (constructivist, technical, occasionally like color samples from a printing shop), all this consorts surprisingly with the current style of painting. However, as a renaissance, as a comeback of the 1970s, it requires a completely di erent interpretation.
